Retro City Rampage DX is some kind of Grand Theft Auto, but set in a pixelated, 80’s inspired world. In this retro city full of crime, you’ll find the same fun as Rockstar Games’ classic, this time all mixed with a more geekish twist, thrown into a creative storyline that, like Grand Theft Auto, will encourage you to go mess around with different, optional side mission and a few unlockable challenges based on the aforementioned missions
The setup is pretty much almost the same as Grand Theft Auto, where your character, Player One, who works for a plagiary of the Back From the Future character Emmett Brown, goes all over the city causing death and destruction as he walks by, if you feel like it, while completing mission for different shady, suspicions people. Or just mess around, again, if you feel like it.
Retro City Rampage DX Features
Retro City Rampage DX is basically a parody/mashup of Grand Theft Auto with several geekish elements, pop culture references, and lots of unnecessary violence.
You’ll catch a few references to anything related to the geek world if you have a good eye, and of course, if you’re into that kind of things – the best part is the incorporation of aforementioned elements doesn’t seem stiff, but instead, rather cohesive.
Definitely, what makes this game stand out from the rest of the other games that try to imitate GTA is its sense of humor. Although it is a different, more compact open world game, this one nails perfectly the GTA vibe, capturing the very essence of the whole point of the famous game.
Controls are not what most of the people expect. You’d consider controls would be a pain in the neck, but it’s easier than you’d think: they are not exactly easy to handle, to be fair, but it’s not impossible to play with those.
But think this game was not exactly designed for smartphone platform in the first place, but this is actually an adaptation for these mobile devices.
Retro City Rampage DX Review
Regardless, Retro City Rampage DX for mobile devices is just as good as its other versions for other platforms; the game is simply good, and cool, attractive for certain public more than for others, but it’s the kind of game anyone could play and like.
You can try the game by downloading it from the Google Play Store on your Android device for the fair price of $4.84. Retro City Rampage DX is a must have, and you should definitely play it if you haven’t before. At least, if you don’t love it, you might like it; it clicks easily with people. Give it a try.
